I have a very special post for you today! I have complied a list of 8 blogs you need to be reading — curated just for you 🙂
Background: As co-host of FIRE Drill Podcast, I talk to a lot of awesome people doing some pretty cool things with their time and money. Our listeners want to get in on some of these cool things, but don’t know where to start. So, J and I started running 6 week Mastermind groups where we all learn how to do something together. So far, we’ve run a few Etsy Digital Download groups, an Etsy Print-on-Demand group, and a Blogging group. We guided 8 people on their journey to create some amazing blogs.
Now, I get to share the results of their hard work with you! Please visit, comment, and bookmark their sites. The best is yet to come 🙂
We’ve got lifestyle blogs, personal finance blogs, cooking blogs, and more. Enjoy!
For The Love of Tidy
Kristyn has been a Konmari Consultant in Chicago for 2 years. She wanted to take the blog for her business to the next level and she succeeded! I think what their team is doing is super important and I’m glad we were able to help her get her blog tidied up. (ha!)
For the Love of Tidy is Chicago’s first professional organizing consultancy specializing in the KonMari Method™ of tidying up. She helps clients put their home, mind, and life in order once and for all through this revolutionary technique, based on the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing made popular by Marie Kondo’s bestselling book (aff link) The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. The method focuses on what you choose to keep (does it “spark joy?”), rather than what or how much you discard, donate, or sell.

Cooking for FIRE
Emily is a 32 year old striving to achieve Financial Independence through her love of being a self taught home cook and sharing time saving and frugal recipes with the community. As someone whose level of cooking is limited to “skillful enough to not die”, I’m really looking forward to seeing what recipes Emily shares next. She’s got a recipe for artisan bread that made my gluten-free mouth drool with longing.

Debt Free Happens
Kevin and his wife Erin have a truly incredible debt payoff story. They paid off over $100k in debt in just over 2 years! They are now blogging to share their story and help others pay down their debt. Kevin says, “In 2017 we started Debt Free Happens to inspire and motivate others to help them get out of debt and jumpstart their financial success. We believe that you too can be successful with your finances. We will both share what we’ve learned and the lessons we are continuing to learn every day.
Our goal is to create a community and help encourage others on their own personal journey. Whether you have already begun paying off debt or haven’t started we hope to provide inspiration and support.”
I can say that if I had debt, I’d want Kevin to help me pay it down. He’s that good 😀

Nosh and Nest
Nichole is a super crafty lady who loves DIY, decorating, baking, and organizing. She set up her blog to share these interests with you! As someone who isn’t particularly great at decorating.…. baking.….. or organizing, I need more of what Nichole has to offer. From recipes for the CUTEST apple cupcakes to how to set up a collage-style gallery wall (mine always end up looking lopsided), she’s got it all!

Flip the Fail
Elle might be the most prolific blogger I have ever met. During the Mastermind course she optimized her blog and posted over 20 articles of amazing content on how to manage your money, health and family for optimal living! 20 posts! Incredible!! She’s documenting her path to millionaire status, improving her health and sharing her mistakes along the way so we can all learn together, which is the kind of learning I love to do best. She also offers a free 7 day course on how to start taking action and turn your life around!
Check out her blog at Flip the Fail.
Hearts Are Mountains
Monica runs a blog that I’m deeming a travel adventure blog. She loves to travel and do awesome hikes/runs in the mountains. As someone who lives in the flat land, I use her blog to pretend I do cool things like hiking mountain trails and other outdoor adventures. She posts great pictures from vistas in the mountains that make you feel like you did the hike with her! (minus the burning legs and oxygen deprivation, of course)
Check out her blog at Hearts are Mountains.
Our Successful Life
This blogger is anonymous, but I can say he is an incredibly deep thinker and had a lot to offer the group members during the Mastermind. He is very thoughtful and has a lot going on in his head, so I’m pretty excited to see what else he has to share with the world!

Finance Your Dreams
Last but certainly not least is Fred. He created his blog to help others get out of debt and start working on achieving their dreams. He covers a wide variety of finance topics, so even if you don’t have debt you can still learn a little somethin’ somethin’.

Final Thoughts
I am SO PROUD of all their hard work on their blogs. We packed a lot of work and learning into 7 weeks, so creating these blogs was truly a labor of love and dedication. My hat is off to them! By participating in this Mastermind, they basically crammed the first full year of learning and growth in less than 2 months. I loved being able to help answer their questions and see the look of frustration turn into a look of wonder as they figured out a particularly knotty problem. Starting a blog can be one of the hardest things on the Internet to do and all 8 of them rocked it. Well done friends!
Thanks for this great write up Gwen! It was a lot of fun to see everyone start and develop their blog these last 6 weeks. I know my blog has benefited greatly from it! Thanks so much for yours and J’s leadership and I look forward to seeing everyone continue to develop and grow their blogs. Thanks!
thanks for sharing what look like some great blogs. I’ll have to check some of them out!
Thanks — will definitely check them out!
This is awesome! So cool to see the different niches and more FIRE blogs to read, especially as I start up my FIRE blog. Will you be doing more Mastermind groups? Your blog was one of the first that really made me feel like it would be worthwhile to write even though it felt like FIRE-blog-land was already burning up most of the ground to cover.
Hooray! New blogs for me to read! Seriously impressed by the hustle of new bloggers because it is a LOT of hard work in the beginning and you don’t yet see the big rewards.
Informative article. Great blogs list. I will definitely going to check these blogs. I have bookmarked it for future references. Thanks for sharing such an valuable article.
I love to read and you made it easy for me to find such wonderful blogs. I am going to read them all. Thank you for sharing the list.
Danny!
All of these blogs are very useful to me. Thanks a lot for sharing. Surely, I’ll make use of these.
Uhhh… why am I not on the list? Kidding, nice post.
